DETOX Safely with Essential Oils
Even though essential oils are 100% safe and natural, eco-friendly and help your body eliminate stress, anxiety and even illness, it’s important to know how to use them safely.
Biblical essential oils
Many people love essential oils and have come to appreciate their ancient stories. What a delightful surprise it is to find out that the Bible is full of references. There are estimated over a thousand separate references to plants, oils, or incense. It was the ancient people’s way of honoring God, healing the body and uplifting the mind and emotions.
These oils have been used for thousands of years for healing and support for the immune system and eliminate toxins from the liver which boosts your lymphatic system and making you feel your best.
In other blogs, I will write more about each oil in detail and their healing properties and biblical use. Here are the names of the most common ones:
Frankincense—A Holy Oil for Yesterday and Today
Myrrh—The Midwives Oil in the Old Testament
Balsam Fir, Idaho –An Oil of Royalty
Cedarwood—The First Oil to Be Distilled
Galbanum—An Ancient Oil that is Truly Grounding
Hyssop—a Valuable Aid at the Time of Death
Cassia—A Warming Spicy Oil of the Ancient World
Aloes/Sandalwood—An Ancient/Modern Assistance in Meditatio
Spikenard—Considered a Sacred Anointing Oil
The following are some precautions and how they help detox your body, mind and spirit to bring optimum health. Always begin with using essential oils safely.
Use oils carefully
Essential oils are medicinal and very powerful. Make sure you know how to handle them properly by reading instructions or asking an aromatherapist.
Check out the kind and quality of the oil first.
Not every oil is the same. Make sure you are using the highest quality and concentrated oils. Even though it can be costly, you don’t want to be breathing in or applying something cheap and not of seed to oil quality.
If you have a reaction…STOP!
I always advise my clients that a reaction or allergic response is not desirable. Skin rashes, hives, skin sensitivity or any reaction is a sign to stop immediately. Seek alternative oil therapy as not everyone responds the same to individual oils.
Do a skin patch test before you begin
It’s always a good idea to do a skin patch test before you use the oil. You will be able to tell if there is a sensitivity.
Check with your doctor
Always check with your doctor if you are pregnant, using oils on children, or taking medications. Some oils have interactions and side effects with certain medications that you should know.
So which oils are the best for detoxing? The following are some of the main ones that have been effective for certain things.
